Successful design work continues at BPHS thanks to SolidLux

During the expansion and new-build of the BPHS distribution centre in Farmsum, one guiding principle was paramount: the logistics operation had to continue running. Downtime was not an option. Together with processing specialist Rapidline, BPHS therefore opted for the SolidLux UV line-marking system. The result is strong, durable line markings that can bear loads immediately and were applied with minimal disruption.

Rapidline is one of the first early adopters of UV line marking in the Netherlands and has been working with SolidLux products for some time. In previous projects, around 2,000 kilograms of conventional paint was used. For this project, a conscious decision was made to switch to SolidLux, partly due to its speed, ease of use, quality and durability.

The challenge: building and working at the same time

The project involved extending the existing distribution centre and constructing a new hall. At the same time, day-to-day logistics processes had to continue uninterrupted. Floor marking played a key role in this: clear routes and zones, safe walking and driving routes for staff and internal transport, and immediate handover without long drying times.

Work was carried out whilst construction was still in full swing. This called for flexibility in planning and execution. And for a marking system that could be easily integrated into a dynamic working environment.

Smart line marking that delivers immediate results.

For this project, the SolidLux line marking system was chosen, an extremely wear-resistant UV coating developed for floor line marking in high-traffic environments. SolidPrint was used for AGV* symbols, enabling routes and work zones to be applied clearly, durably and neatly in a single pass.

“Thanks to UV curing, the markings are dry immediately and can bear weight straight away. That was crucial in a distribution centre where work had to continue,” explains Tim Albers, project manager at Rapidline. Furthermore, the system is highly wear-resistant and solvent-free, ensuring a low CO₂ footprint. As such, SolidLux aligns seamlessly with BPHS’s sustainability ambitions without compromising on quality or speed.

Fast to use, easy to work with.

The SolidLux system also proves its worth in day-to-day practice. According to Rapidline, SolidPrint in particular stands out for its high user-friendliness. The product is fast and easy to use, resulting in higher output and efficient operation.

At BPHS, the combination of speed, durability and continuity is particularly valued. The line marking was applied in a flash, can withstand heavy loads and is long-lasting. A key advantage was that logistics operations could continue as normal whilst the work was being carried out. The line marking was applied both indoors and outdoors and tailored to the logistics processes and the phased handover of the building.

The result: sleek, safe and future-proof. Ready for today and tomorrow.

The end result is a sleek and clear layout that was ready for immediate use. The lines ensure safety, clarity and efficient flow within the distribution centre. Despite the combination of new-build, existing structures and active logistics operations, the project proceeded smoothly and according to plan.

With SolidLux, BPHS has a future-proof line marking solution that meets both day-to-day operational needs and long-term objectives in terms of quality and sustainability.

Looking Ahead

Rapidline continues to position itself as a pro-minded installer of SolidLux UV systems and sees the future of line marking clearly lying in fast, sustainable solutions. For BPHS, too, choosing SolidLux is a logical step towards a more efficient and sustainable distribution centre.
